bluestate battle royale 2005!

Please join us tomorrow night at Gate 54 @ Café Saint-Ex for bluestate battle royale 2005!

What does that mean, exactly? It means that the three DJs – DCSOB, DJ Leafblower and Seeking Irony – each picked a theme, and we'll be doing 20 minute rotations from 9 p.m. to close.

DCSOB – DC vs. NYC: Inferiority Complex
DJ Leafblower – Manchester UK
Seeking Irony – Nordic Pop

You decide: Is Swedish pop better than music from Manchester ? Can DC make up in quality what it lacks in quantity? Do New Yorkers act too damn superior for no good reason?

And in addition to the music we'll be spinning, we also have lots of music and other goodies to give away, courtesy of V2 Music and Luaka Bop Records. We'll be giving away vinyl, CDs, posters, buttons and more from artists like Brendan Benson, Rinôçérôse, Nouvelle Vague and Blanche. So get there early for a chance to pick up all the best giveaways and stay late to see who triumphs in the battle.

See you there!
